Agent Spotlight on Annette Abernathy
Annette has been a Realtor since 2009 and specializes primarily in residential real estate. When asked her favorite part of being an agent, Annette said she loves assisting buyers and sellers in all their Real Estate needs, and seeing the smile on their faces when they find the perfect home. Over the past 16 years she has met and become friends with many of her clients. Through births, deaths, weddings, divorces, Covid and just doing life together, each one of her sales and clients has left a mark on her heart. Annette said, “I attribute the success of my career to my ability to meet every client on their own level of needs. Whether a $20,000 property or a billion-dollar property I treat all clients the same and have their best interest at heart.” As a single mother of 3 kids, Annette loves that Real Estate has offered the flexibility to allow family time and vacations which is very important to her. She loves to travel and see the world! Some of the top dream destinations on her bucket list are Japan, China, and Paris. Annette loves the beach, but also enjoys the mountains for a day hike or just to relax. She enjoys spending her free time kayaking, hiking, and sightseeing in the western NC mountains. Locally, Annette loves the lakes, waterfalls, hiking, the river walk, city walk, restaurants, and theaters the Catawba Valley has to offer. She said, “there is so much to do!” In her free time Annette also enjoys volunteering at her church and at local non-profit organizations.

Q - What do you like best about living here in the Catawba Valley area?
A - The lakes, the rivers, waterfalls, hiking, the river walk, city walk, restaurants, theaters,
etc. There is so much to do!
Q - What is your most memorable sale?
A - Not one really stands out. Over the past 16 years I have met and became friends with alot of my clients. Through births, deaths, weddings, divorces, covid and just doing life

A - Kayaking, hiking, and sightseeing in the Western NC Mountains
Q - What would you be doing if you were not helping people buy or sell homes?
A - Volunteering at my church, traveling, volunteering at local non-profits
Q - If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
A - Move to Hilton Head but NC part time of course. I like having the best of the NC
beaches and mountains
Q - If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
A - Sky-diving and/or hang-gliding

A - My God, my kids and friends

A - The same place I am right now, here in Hickory, NC close to friends and family

A - Southern American – biscuits & gravy with a side of grits
Q - If you could pick any superpower, what would it be?
A - I would want to be a Jeanie in a bottle, able to grant wishes
Q - If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
A - I have a lot on my bucket list. Japan, China, Paris, etc. I want to see the world
Q - What is something no one knows about you?
A - I love Curious George. I kept my stuffed version from the age of 3 years old until now

A - Restaurants, Hickory offers a large variety of brewery’s, cuisine, venue’s to fit anyone’s taste palate.
