Get to know Alan Long
Alan Long chose to step into a career in real estate almost 20 years ago and has never looked back. He and his wife Gina have owned several businesses in the Hickory area from the furniture manufacturing industry, to photography, and the most fun... a coffee house. Gina also has her license and assists whenever he can’t be two places at one time. He said, “I only wish I had chosen this path sooner. Being a realtor means, no two days are ever the same.” He grew up in Hickory and knows the community benefits of living here, but also serves the surrounding areas by working through the Triad MLS, Canopy MLS, and High County MLS to better serve his clients. Alan is immersed and excels in both residential and commercial real estate. “I love being able to help buyers and sellers, first time home buyers, clients that are desiring to downsize or just finding that perfect new home for their family. Walking with people and being able to assist in some of the most important decisions they will make is such a reward. What I love about being a realtor is building relationships and serving people. I work hard for each client and want all my clients to walk away from our time together and think, now that’s a man of integrity.”
Q - What do you like best about living here in the Catawba Valley area?
A - We are close to the mountains and not too far from the beach!
Q - What is your most memorable sale?
A - Working with an international buyer and getting his new home closed
Q - What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
A - Camping, photography and spending time with my grandkids
Q - What would you be doing if you were not helping people buy or sell homes?
A - Professional photography
Q - If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
A - Pay off all my family’s debts and then travel
Q - If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
A - I would like to speak another language fluently

A - Helping people with one of the largest investments of their life

A - Travel around Europe

A - I have two favorites! Italian and Thai food

A - To be able to fly
